Piotr Cieślewicz (born 1995 in Poznań)
Graduate of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art (specialty in Conservation and Restoration of Painting and Polychrome sculpture) at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
In his paintings, he mostly uses oil and watercolour. He is interested in various painting techniques and technologies, both historical and modern, which he tries to combine and use in his works. He’s currently in the process of creating a series of paintings that merges traditional figurative painting with modern and contemporary art and refers to various artistic movements within. His experience in the conservation and creation of painting copies is instrumental in this project. The juxtaposition of motifs known from the works of other artists gives rise to new interpretive paths, new visual quality and raises the issues of, among others, the relationships and differences between the art of different periods.
His works have been presented at exhibitions in Paris, Florence, Warsaw, Poznań and Toruń.
